Jim Sullivan currently serves as President with responsibility for contributing to key enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.

Jim joined Koppers in June 2013 as Vice President of Business Development for Koppers. He was named Senior Vice President of Global Carbon Materials and Chemicals in 2014 and expanded his responsibilities in 2018 to include Railroad Products and Services. In 2020, Jim was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, Jim served as President and Chief Transformation Officer, where he oversaw the evaluation and execution of hundreds of opportunities through a disciplined process aimed at maximizing performance across every dimension of the company.

Prior to joining Koppers, Jim served as Senior Vice President, Americas at Calgon Carbon Corporation, where he also held various management positions in the areas of operations, marketing, sales, and research and development.

He graduated from Ryerson University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and earned his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz School of Business.
